Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
Bill Hicks was crass, obstreperous, and undeniably offensive. He was also one of the funniest comedians ever, in the malicious tradition of George Carlin and Lenny Bruce, hiding social commentary in the bluster of standup. Rant in E-Minor is probably the best introduction to his work, containing his opinions on such tame subjects as abortion, gays in the military, and Rush Limbaugh. Agree with him or not--and you'd be hard put to find anyone who agrees with everything Hicks had to say--it's devilishly clever stuff; even the dated material is still funny and fresh. Hicks was a twisted genius of the highest order, and he's sorely missed. --Genevieve Williams

From the Label
The material for Rant In E-Minor was recorded at approximately the same time as Arizona Bay, but Hicks’ plan for the album was substantially different. He chose to simply focus on performance energy, cycling his routine to alternately build and release. Consequently, Rant...’s tracks are shorter and more intensely focused than those on his previous albums. Probably Hicks’ most explosive recorded work, Rant... broadens both the range of his comedy and his insightful characterizations, while further honing his satirical wit. The album stands as a harmonic convergence of all elements of Hicks’ talent.
