We have the Nature’s Touch version of this swing and it was the key to getting our baby to sleep 6+ hours in a row at night. It will swing until the batteries run out, so no having to keep hitting a button or winding it or anything.

I bought a travel-sized Sleep Sheep, which is super cute but it turns off after 42 minutes, at which point baby wakes up. So we found this, and it works great! It also has a projector which can project 3 different rotating scenes on the ceiling to comfort and amuse the baby.

Although our plan was to do cloth diapers from the get-go, our doula and several friends suggested that disposables would keep her drier during that constant peeing and pooping phase. Our doula recommended these specifically since they have the line that changes color when the baby is wet.

So much better than safety pins. Does *anybody* still use those?

Not exactly what our hospital gave us but close enough. I bought 3, so we’d have one in the diaper bag, one in the nursery, one in the kitchen, and one attached to her car seat. You don’t want to have to run around trying to find the pacifier when your little one is cranky!

Forget cutesy outfits, our little girl spends all her time in sleepers, gowns or the occasional onesie (we live in Seattle and she was a March baby so it's still a little chilly.) The sleepers are nicest once you start taking your baby places, as they can wear them in a car seat. Also, you don't have to worry about socks (which never stay on) as baby's feet are covered.

Get a pack or two of these bibs. They're great for catching dribbles and spit-up so your little one doesn't need a whole new outfit after every feeding.

I have several different Lamaze toys--the peacock, the firefly, the giraffe and the bug. They tend to have pretty similar features. At this point, baby is most interested in the mirrors and the squeakers. I attach them to her play gym/mat. Oh, and despite the labels, you *can* put them in the washing machine and then let them air dry.

Everyone recommended the Boppy pillow for breastfeeding and I can see why. The cover fabrics are not all the same though. Some are pretty coarse. I like the soft boa cover because it’s nice and soft on newborn skin.

I bought my pump used (yes, you can!) and then my doula went through the accessories and told me what I needed to replace to make it sanitary. The first night my husband gave baby a bottle for her 2am feeding and I got to sleep for 5 solid hours...bliss!!! Highly recommended if you are breastfeeding.

Even the size 0 Avent nipples allowed the milk to flow way faster than our little one could take it in. These are designed to make babies work the same way they have to to get milk from the breast. Later we transitioned to Dr. Brown's.

I liked these best for their absorbency, comfort, and least amount of show-through. I tried the washable ones and they just looked way too obvious (in addition to leaking).

Great for once the weather warms up and the fleece one is too heavy.

My doula recommended this and she was not wrong. OK, kinda garish, but baby will lie and watch it for a good 20 minutes at least, which is awesome when you need a shower or just a few minutes to yourself.

I actually got an Ergo the first time out and didn't use it as much as I thought. The infant insert made it too warm and then she preferred facing out. This time I am getting a Becco Gemini which a friend has and loves. No need to buy additional inserts and can face in or out while still offering good back support. This may be the perfect carrier...
