Buy new: $18.99 I prefer this to the velcro specially shaped swaddle blankets because it stays relevant longer. Its the biggest blanket we received and the softest/nicest. It was developed by an RN and mom who had plenty of swaddling experience and has a big satin tag on it with easy diagrams on how to swaddle your baby. And there are so many beautiful colors and designs.

Buy new: $7.99 We call this "banana fairy" which makes C laugh, mainly because he loves the word "banana." Organic cotton inside and out, I don't feel badly about it going in baby's mouth-especially since mine has taken it as a personal challenge to get the whole head in his mouth. There are many veggies and fruits, we chose the banana because its easy to hold.

Buy new: $14.12 If you can't (or don't want to) go glass, these bottles don't have the BPA found in almost every other brand.

This is the gift I give at every baby shower. They are leg warmers for babies. Put on a onesie and these, and you are good to go. They outlast all other clothes, access to the diaper is easy, unlike pants, they don't hike up when baby is being carried...and they're super cute. Developed by a mom. Fantastic. Also great for those with an aversion to socks, because they can cover feet.

Buy new: $17.69 I've heard every baby in France has one. She is the perfect teether because her shape makes gums feel good and her skinny legs are easy to grasp. She is made in the Alps of single source latex and non-toxic paint. If you're trying to avoid plastic, but cloth doesn't cut it and wood is too hard, she's the answer.

Buy new: $11.99 Haba is a great company. Their wooden toys are still made in Europe, everything is non toxic and they are fun without being over stimulating. Again, for the parent avoiding plastic, this is a great find. The Pipapo is my son's favorite, but we also have a few other of the grasping toys and all are much loved.

Buy new: $11.99 Super gentle, Little Twig stuff is organic and good for sensitive skin. We use the shampoo for hair and body and its the only shampoo that C's dad has found that doesn't irritate his scalp.

Buy new: $49.99 Diapers are a hard decision to make for the health/eco-conscious group. These are my favorite of the disposables. They say they have researched their gel and they have found it to be safe-I hope this is true. An alternative is the cloth/disposble hybrid G Diapers (gdiapers.com). I really like them, but a bit of a commitment. Tushies are the only disposable without gel, but I've heard they leak.

Buy new: $99.95 / Used from: $42.99 Worried that the baby food you feed your baby has stuff in it that you don't want? Make your own. Freeze it in ice cube trays and defrost as needed. For maximum nutrition, don't microwave.

Buy new: $24.95 / Used from: $0.01 This book may be a good intro to the world of organic baby rearing. Personally, I was already doing everything I could (or could afford to do) so reading this book just made me worry without really being able to do anything. Its really pretty, though.
