We don't use our infant carrier at all. I wish we hadn't wasted our money on the infant seat and put him straight into the convertible seat. This seat is well-made but not expensive, it reclines so that a newborn is comfortable, and you won't spend another $100-$200 dollars on a carseat that won't last nearly as long. Especially if you have big babies like I do!
