The author uses bean flours so there is a distinct flavor which not everyone may like. The recipes are probably a lot healthier for it. The chocolate chip cookies with garbanzo bean flour are a favorite with my kids and I love that I am getting protein into them disguised as a sweet treat :)

Buy new: $10.17 / Used from: $8.20 The only reason this is on the list is that it has the best baking cycle settings for the zojirushi breadmaker. I was not impressed with the flour mix she recommends and the breads were not tasty but the baking cycle she describes works perfectly with bread recipes from Fenster's book of 1000 gluten free recipes

You can, of course, make pancakes from scratch but it is nice to have a ready mix in the bleary morning hours when you are tempted to just shove the prepackaged cereal and an apple at the kids and go back to bed.

Buy new: $36.22 Unbleached sugar looks odd. There's no getting by that. so if that is an issue you may want to stay away from this.
we have switched over to this sugar and don't use the bleached stuff anymore. The taste is nearly identical. Perhaps a litle more of the raw cane flavor which alters the flavor slightly in teas and coffees but is not at all noticeable in baked goods.
