Tea tree oil is a mild antiseptic, which works great on skin wounds. I also add it to my homemade tooth powder. I bring other essential oils in these tiny 10 ml. bottles – bergamat or patchouli for after shower. I have spearmint, too, which I leave at home after flavoring my tooth powder.

I put my own sewing supplies in an old Rx bottle, and wrap 3-6' of duct tape around the outside. Needles, pins, safety pins, buttons, hook-&-eyes, paper clips. I wrap my own thread, including 'invisible' thread and heavy duty waxed thread. Nail clippers cut thread as well as scissors, so I leave the scissors out.

Jala neti is the practice of nasal irrigation – sounds gross, but it works to clear congestion, dust, etc. from your nasal passages. I bring my own blend of sea salt plus a bit of baking soda and xylitol, but any salt will do. This unbreakable pot is the way to go if you're traveling.

Small & useful for handwashing clothes, which I do a lot to keep my pack light. Ex Officio makes great travel underwear that dries quickly. I often launder with a gentle bar soap instead of carrying detergent or liquid.
